A tradition since the 16th century.  Street painting usingchalk as the medium is enjoying a revival in Europe andthe U.S.  After being discovered in the village of Grazie de Curatone, Italy, the festival I Madonnari was created

in 1987 in Santa Barbara.  Street painting is now expanding to various cities throughout the United States and Europe.
